Construction continues on Titanic Pigeon Forge
Opening this Spring, Titanic Pigeon Forge invites visitors to experience the romance and history of the legendary White Star Line passenger steamship, the RMS Titanic. With 20 galleries and interactive areas, the self-guided tour should take about 90 minutes.
Located on over 5 acres of land near Black Bear Jamboree, The Miracle Theater and WonderWorks, this 30,000 square foot structure drops anchor on the northern Pigeon Forge Parkway. The forward half of the ship is reproduced on a one half scale and will contain exact replicas of the Grand Staircase, a first class suite, a third class cabin and the Marconi wireless room.
The 400+ artifacts to be displayed were either carried off the RMS Titanic by passengers and crew or were salvaged during the rescue efforts.
In addition to the artifact galleries, interactive displays allow guest to:
- Touch the frozen surface of an “iceberg”
- Feel the chill of that fateful Starry Night
- Study some of the largest, most detailed Titanic models ever built
- Sit in a Titanic lifeboat
- Send an SOS from the Marconi Wireless Room
- Test their balance while standing on mini-decks built to show the ever-steeper slope of Titanic as she sank
- Explore the Titanic’s wreck site via spectacular underwater camera footage
