Oktoberfest at Ober Gatlinburg

Oktoberfest

Ober Gatlinburg is celebrating the month of October with a Bavarian-style Festival to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the popular festival in Munich, Germany. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout October there will be Bavarian-style food, drink, and music.

To add to the excitement The Bavarian Fun Makers Band, donned in authentic costumes, will be performing traditional Bavarian folk dances, schuhplattling, oompah music, sing-a-longs, yodels, and lots more. Show times are at 1, 4, and 6pm.

In addition to the entertainment, special Oktoberfest Biers will be served along with traditional German wurst, schnitzel, sauerkraut, strudel, pretzels, and more.

Gatlinburg’s Oktoberfest takes after the original, in Munich during October of 1810, where the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig I and Princess Therese of Bavaria was such a renowned celebration that the anniversary of the event is held every year. As immigrants traveled from Germany to America, Oktoberfest began locally. Now a tradition, Oktoberfest is a fun way to enjoy the Bavarian-style, and learn about other cultures with great festivities.

Ober Gatlinburg has many new attractions with the newest being a 4,600 square-foot Amaze’n Maze. Have an exhilarating time navigating through the maze while competing against family, friends, and the clock. An old-fashioned carousel was also added to part of Galtinburg’s indoor entertainment alongside the huge ice arena. Experience Ober Galtinburg this fall season with Oktoberfest!
